These shades, though made of paper, look nicer than one would ever expect when installed. Being able to custom fit them to the width of the window(s) is a plus, especially for a set of windows that vary somewhat in size. So far I have had no problems with mine staying up, and I would offer the following tip: prepare the surface where you will attach the adhesive strip first; clean the area with a paper towel saturated with rubbing alcohol and allow to dry thoroughly. This removes any dirt and especially oils that prevent the adhesive from working well. The shades filter light and provide privacy although they are not light-blocking. Also, please note that the 72" length on these is misleading; the shades are that long only if the accordion pleating is fully extended, which does not happen simply by hanging them. When installed and allowed to hang naturally, the shades cover a 60" vertical space (approximately).
