We needed "black-out" curtains because of my husband's work schedule and these do the job well. You can still see some light shining over the top of the curtains, but I've never figured out a way to prevent that. I did get the 95" long curtains and hung the curtain rod right next to the ceiling. That does help with the amount of light that escapes over the top of the curtains. I also have the rod extending about four inches on either side of the window.The curtains make the room very dark so that my husband can sleep in daylight hours. I have also found the black-out curtains are helpful when I have a migraine.
The fabric is very soft and luxurious. They are heavy and drape beautifully. I love the chocolate color!
