I ordered 3 curtain rods in this model and 2 of the 3 arrived with the finials completely broken off. The box the products arrived in was undamaged so I can only assume that the damage stems from the poor quality of the products themselves. Indeed although this product is advertised as "Metal Rods With Adjustable Metal Brackets" the packaging itself says that it is made of PVC. The product is plastic painted to look like metal (and poorly done). I understood from the relatively low cost of this item that I would not receive a top of the line product, however I have seen far nicer products, and at a lower cost, elsewhere on Amazon, at Target, Bed Bath & Beyond, etc. If nothing else, I expect truth in advertising as to the materials used in construction.The product itself was my first disappointment, only to be followed by the truly disappointing customer service provided by the seller UnbeatableSale, Inc. After receiving the products I promptly wrote UnbeatableSale, Inc. and received a reply requesting photo documentation of the damage. Despite the fact that this seller has over 21,000 ratings through Amazon and has no doubt corresponded with many a disappointed customer before (several of whom I read on the customer feedback portion of their seller profile), they were apparently unaware that Amazon does not allow you to include your personal email address in correspondence and therefore the email address I was given to send the photographs to was deleted from the body of the email. Given that the contact form provided through Amazon does not allow you to attach photos, in order to provide the requested photo documentation I emailed the photos to the customer service email provided on the seller's website. I also contacted the service representative via the Amazon account and requested confirmation of her receipt of the photographs. I waited a few more days before sending another email requesting follow-up. I am still awaiting response from this seller.
I have spent a little time reading the customer reviews of this seller both on Amazon and on other sites and apparently I am not the only customer who initially received a prompt response from this company, only to have all subsequent attempts at contact conveniently ignored. I suspect that this seller is in fact well aware of Amazon's filtering policies regarding emails and of the fact that photos cannot be attached in messages sent via Amazon's message system; I believe this to be a deliberate attempt to make the return/exchange policy so inconvenient as to dissuade dissatisfied customers from pursing the process to a satisfactory conclusion.
I regret having to post this negative review. I wish that UnbeatableSale would have prevented this by providing other than misleading advertising and abysmal customer service.
