I bought this curtain rod to hold a curtain over our patio door. The curtain is thermal backed and somewhat heavy, so I needed a sturdy rod. This rod worked for that. My only complaint is the runners on the back were bent when we got them so we had to hammer them straight in order for the sliders to slide. The two finials are also different finishes of the same color: one is shiny and one is dull, you don't really notice it though once it is hung because they are far apart.
