This wrought iron wand is supposed to be hung on a drapery rod, because it has a clip. Well, I would need as many wands as I have panels (4) on one wide window, so they would add a lot of weight to the drapery rod, not to mention the cost. The opening in the ring is rather small, so it will fit only thin rods - it barely fits mine. I have a telescoping metal drapery rod, which is not so unusual, and the rings are catching the raise in the circumference - each ring separately. So, it is harder to use the baton than I would have thought, whether hung permanently or not. Its length is not impressive either.
I wanted to return it, but I would lose shipping I already paid and to send it back on my own, which may be more expensive, plus I would be charged 20% restocking fee because it's available only through Amazon MarketPlace - I know, nothing new here, not the manufacturer's fault, but now I think it is over priced to begin with. So, think well before ordering, because just checking whether it works will cost you more than other options available here.
I bought a hook on extendable wand to reach garments in a tall closet instead. It works much better and it has vinyl coating, which will prevent scratching the drapery rod finish (another minus of the wrought iron finish).
